insane synth-heavy feel-good brit-funk classic and huge favourite of dam-funk. a certified uk boogie bomb, originally released in 1982, and coming hot on the heels of the pink rhythm reissue campaign. side on was a one-off uk soul dream team, consisting of peter maas, everton mccalla and rick clarke.

a much in demand reissue of two of nyc born-and-bred, pal joeys, classics from his joint label with reynald deschamps, loop dloop. first up, party time which harnesses that 90s nyc underground house energy with a rawness that was to emanate through many of pal joeys subsequent productions. scalpel in hand, joey expertly crafted this sample laden groover, his trademark stuttering, off-kilter rhythms, loops and fills keeping listeners on their toes throughout, never knowing how the next phrase might unfold. on the flip, raw love utilises a seminal disco classic as its main sample source, looping it in a way only pal joeys mind knows how, adding percussive hits and extra effects to create an innovative, animated and exhilaratingly rhythmic dancefloor bomb. both tracks are perfect examples of the simplicity and seeming effortlessness that pal joey maintains in his productions, adhering to the mantra that less is more but with a resonating rawness that touches deep down in the soul.

heat in two belgian flavors! check out the zaïrian electronic dance floor banger “nakombe nga” by les choc stars. comes with the dope, largely unheard belgium new beat version on the flip from the teknokrat s. both tracks were originally released in 1989 and this is the first time they appear together on 12-. reissue co-curated with renowned record fiend john gomez. the music on this winning double-sider was written by tony baron and gery françois, two belgian producers that were involved in several musical projects on the new beat scene in the 1980s. they worked under many aliases and recorded the teknokrat’s haunting “what did she say?” at the famous studio madeleine in brussels in 1989. prompted by jean martin from espera records, baron adapted the music into a further two songs to be released that year, virginity’s melancholic “the key”, and the surprising but ear catching collaboration with the label’s soukous stars, ben nyamabos les choc stars du zaire. it is still a mystery how the seeds were planted for the one-off pairing that culminated in the electronic soukous bomb “nakombe nga”. what is certain is that it is set to light up dancefloors worldwide.

tribal pulse is 5 years old, and we re celebrating with a special series of vinyl and compilation releases, and parties in some really insane locations, including a unique birthday celebration in the beautiful highlands of scotland. first up we have boom merchant s i see the future available on 180g vinyl and containing contributions from italian slammin techno kingpin johnny kaos and maltese 303 sniper acidulant. the title track is a morphing, energetic futurist techno cut. a powerful, bass-driven groove works alongside complex analogue percussion sequencing and growling distortion before detroit-style chords and atmospherics move in to take you higher, before slamming you back into the dark groove once again. this one is a real bomb waiting to go off. for sub mission boom merchant combines forces once again with johnny kaos, and in keeping with the theme of the ep, the results are dark, distorted and full of flavor. the track roars through lashings of sub and relentless machine bleeps, drums and noises, jumping in and out of breakbeats with a monster reese bass chasing you down from start to finish. to round off the ep, acidulant does what he does best, stripping the original back to its bare elements, looping the vocal and creating a roland-heavy roller full of squelchy goodness. we see the future, and we are bringing it to you on wax. we hope these tracks put a smile on your face.

the first in a smash bomb trilogy of 12” monster dance floor madness. s.a.m. goes deep and groovy with the a-side track philokalia. it s a lush but powerful 909 driven journey with a power climax with stabby melodic synth strings reminiscent of underground resistance. the b-side features a unique exploration into the use of ravy armand van helden-esque sounds mixed with a powerful simple beat and melodic synths and a whispering voice. two tracks that has already seen support from raresh, mandar, matthew dekay and more this summer.

an all-time rave classic gets the gerd janson re-loving as he works his magic on the 1992 anthem dont go. 26 years on from it s first release, gerd takes the tempo down a notch laying out that all too familiar drum break, instantly recognisable piano line and julie mcdermott s timeless vocals. his subtle touches and added weight, behind a pounding kick, are sure to set any dancefloor alight. about as euphoric as they get - if this doesn t do the business then god help us all. on the b side, belfast s ejeca flips don t go into a heavy-hitting, rave tinged, techno bomb. his inventive sampling turns the synth stabs and vocals on their heads, making them almost indistinguishable, but no less impactful, from the original. it s over four and a half minutes till the iconic chord progression is heard in it s initial form, before ejeca throws it back into a rapid fire, industrial thumper. lastly, gerd serves up a vip dub mix echoing claps and synth lines into the stratosphere, whilst leaving the vocals at bay, save a short cry of don t go from julie towards the end of the track, allowing those anthemic elements to do the talking. a modern touch on an all-time classic from gerd with a complete reinterpretation from ejeca, this is a heavyweight release and one thats already being played by the biggest and the best out there.

heavily supported by the likes of raresh. not to be missed.... fourth in this eee series, following three outrageously good and well received records to date, sees another one-sided, hand-stamped bomb. the artist behind it, as always, is being kept under wraps but there s no hiding the fact that this is some seriously heavyweight club ready business.

harlem s legendary disco label queen constance has long been a cult favourite among fans of underground dance music for decades. one of many labels operating under the equally legendary p&p family of imprints queen constance was operated by one peter brown, a truly colossal figure in nyc s music scene, it s catalogue still fascinates music lovers to this day. covering a wide range of styles including gospel, early rap and disco the label s output continually finds it way into the playlists of respected dj s and selectors across the globe. licky & the dream lovers massive afro-disco groove african rock is the next in a fully licensed series of queen constance rarities to be repressed. licky seems to be yet another studio group put together by peter brown in order to explore different sounds and styles. this raucous piece of uptempo, blazing disco really does the business in the dance, a truly immense club record, which is not surprising considering brown is at the helm. ridiculous funk on this one. across 2 sides we are treated to 2 slightly different versions of the cut, both equally as good, you could literally put the needle on the record, let it spin and watch it do damage. this one is an essential, a truly sought after record that commands extremely high prices on the used market when it shows up, but rarity aside, it is an absolute bomb and deserves to be in any self-respecting disco jocks bag of tricks. this is a 100% legit reissue, made in conjunction with above board distribution and the demon music group, lovingly remastered with love by optimum mastering, bristol uk.

bacao rhythm & steel band return with another instantly classic 45 guaranteed to be all over djs set lists. with their sophomore full length coming in september, they treat us to another bomb of a two sider.
side a is a cover of the dr dre hit “xxplosive” done up in proper brsb fashion, smashing drums and steel pans playing the lead and bass lines. they take this one into new territory by adding synth parts and dubbed out horn lines playing nate dogg’s infamous vocal hook melodies.
side b takes on one of nycity’s grimiest hip hop club anthems, mobb deep’s “burn”. we decided to do this tune and demoed it out long before the unfortunate passing of prodigy. unfortunately, he will never get to hear this cover, and that has been one of the nicest things in covering some of these more current hip hop tunes. rest in peace p.
brsb manages to do it again ... a version equally as raw and punchy as the original. pans bang out the iconic riff from the original, theremin ushers in the changes, and the low rubble of the synth bass is sure to crush the subwoofers.
